Cardiac rhythm disorders and heart muscle diseases are common causes of sudden death in young visibly healthy individuals. Being hereditary, gene analysis can sometimes identify the cause of these diseases. However, currently available genetic tests do not accurately identify people at risk of complications including sudden death. Scientific development allows the identification of other types of genetic variations involved in these diseases. The proposed project aims to fill this gap in clinical care by providing a proof of concept for the implementation of tests for common genetic variants, through polygenic scores.
