Genome Canada has launched a new funding opportunity to strengthen technical, community, and social sciences capacity among First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples to support their participation in genomics research, respecting their right to self-determination.

Genome Canada’s investment in this program aims to develop partnerships to support training, career advancement, and the transition to independent research roles for Indigenous researchers in genomics and related fields. The initiative seeks to integrate Indigenous knowledge systems, values, and perspectives with modern scientific and technological disciplines.
