The Genomic Integration Program (GI) aims to support dynamic partnerships between academic research and user sectors to transform innovative ideas into concrete solutions with significant economic and social impact for Quebec.
The grants offered, ranging from $50,000 to $150,000, fund projects that establish a proof of concept for the development of tools, products, services, or processes involving genomics or other omics sciences. They also facilitate the transfer of results toward implementation, commercialization, or the securing of additional funding

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, projects must meet the following conditions:
- The team must be formed by at least:
- One researcher affiliated with a Quebec research institute (university, CCTT, or nonprofit organization with an explicit research mandate). Each researcher may submit only one application as principal investigator per cycle.
- One non-academic partner (user) responsible for implementing or commercializing the results, including private companies, industrial consortia, nonprofits, government agencies, etc.
- All non-academic organizations, regardless of size, are eligible provided they demonstrate their ability to use, implement, or commercialize the project results.
- The project may relate to agriculture, biofood, forestry, environment, fisheries, energy, mining, or any related field, excluding human health.
- The project must integrate at least one aspect of omics technologies (genomics, epigenomics, metabolomics, metagenomics, nutrigenomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, bioinformatics, etc.).
- The project must address a clearly identified need of the non-academic partner.
- Applicants must secure co-funding at a minimum 1:1 ratio from sources other than the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie du Québec (MEIE). This co-funding can come from commercial partners, foundations, universities, government departments or agencies, large corporations, individuals, etc. In-kind contributions are permitted if conducted in Quebec (letters of support required).
