Genomics is the technology that will generate the most massive data in the human health sector. The ability to analyze and interpret this data is a key factor in the successful integration of genomics into the Québec health care system. This convergence offers strong potential for the optimal use of clinical genomics data. To promote this convergence between genomics and artificial intelligence, Génome Québec participates financially in the genomics projects selected as part of IVADO’s 2017 competition grants for fundamental research projects. The selected research projects aim to process, analyze and integrate large volumes of complex data produced by omics technologies, as well as to advance machine learning for the prediction of the development, progression and response to treatments for diseases such as epilepsy, cancer or cardiovascular disease.
