Saguenay, February 27, 2025 – To mark Rare Disease Day 2025, the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, in collaboration with Génome Québec, is announcing funding for two regional projects as part of the Genomics Integration Program – Human Health. This event brings together clinicians and researchers to highlight scientific and clinical advances in rare diseases.

“We are delighted to see these innovative partnerships come to fruition, which will open up new prospects for a number of communities, particularly those in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Charlevoix and Haute-Côte-Nord regions. The development of genealogical and genetic analysis tools for screening for rare diseases will facilitate faster and better-targeted interventions, paving the way for more effective and personalised healthcare,” says Josette-Renée Landry, PhD, President and CEO of Génome Québec.
