Over $23 million will be invested in genomics in Qu\u00e9bec, including $5.4 million through G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec. In fact, 49% of the available Canadian envelope was allocated to Qu\u00e9bec projects. These investments will accelerate the commercialization and increase its real-world applications. These funds were announced by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, the Honourable Fran\u00e7ois-Philippe Champagne, under Genome Canada&#8217;s <em>Genomics Applications Partnership Program<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A collaboration with public-private partners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The health, agri-food and environment sectors remain key areas for genomic innovation. Progress in these fields not only enhances the well-being of the population, but also strengthens Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s economic competitiveness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;I would like to emphasize the reach and potential impact of the winning projects. They present great opportunities in response to the challenges that our society is currently facing. This program helps to harness the potential of economics to increase the competitiveness of key sectors of the Qu\u00e9bec economy. The GAPP is a solutions-based program that demonstrates how mature the technology is and how eager users are to accelerate its adoption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program follows a cyclical process, launched two times per year.
