{"id":16751,"date":"2018-11-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-11-13T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/genomequebec.com\/actualites-et-publications\/quebec-and-france-united-in-making-genomics-work-for-citizens-and-society\/"},"modified":"2018-11-13T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-11-13T05:00:00","slug":"quebec-and-france-united-in-making-genomics-work-for-citizens-and-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genomequebec.com\/en\/news-and-publications\/quebec-and-france-united-in-making-genomics-work-for-citizens-and-society\/","title":{"rendered":"Qu\u00e9bec and France &#8211; United in making genomics work for Citizens and Society"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the 31<sup>st<\/sup> edition of the\u00a0Entretiens Jacques Cartier (EJC) being held in France, G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec is\u00a0pleased to announce that an international tripartite partnership agreement has been signed with the Universit\u00e9 Jean Monnet de Saint-\u00c9tienne \u2013 Universit\u00e9 de Lyon and the Canc\u00e9rop\u00f4le Lyon Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes (CLARA).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Daniel Coderre, \u201cby transferring know-how and expertise and by developing outreach activities, we can help make this shift from the lab to the clinic a success for society.\u201d Both Qu\u00e9bec and France wish to strengthen their leadership in genome-based health research throughout the Francophonie and thus assert their position as global leaders. \u201cThis partnership is a strategic one for G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec given that successfully leveraging the full benefits of genomics involves public education, knowledge building and social acceptance,\u201d added Mr. Coderre. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Entretiens Jacques Cartier (EJC), organized every year alternatively in the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region and in Qu\u00e9bec, are the largest gathering of French-speaking researchers, academics, policy makers, business leaders and cultural actors.
