On this February 4, G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec wishes to underline the paramount importance of research in the fight against this disease that claims 80,000 Canadians every year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since 2002, we have participated in the funding of 15 research projects on cancer. This represents an investment of $73M from G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec and its partners.<\/span><\/p>\n These researches have permitted the advancement of knowledge on cancer, the potential development of treatments to fight it and the identification of promising leads for prevention.<\/span><\/p>\n Genomics research allows researchers to push the boundaries of science on a daily basis, all for the benefit of society. By unravelling the mystery of the genome, researchers are able to better study diseases.
