The projects funded as part of this program will promote the application of innovations that have significant short-term economic and social impact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Congratulations to Qu\u00e9bec research teams:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Christoph Borchers from the University of Victoria and\u00a0McGill University and Dr. Gerald Batist from McGill University, are working with AstraZeneca to validate new technology that will screen cancer patients to ensure they receive the most effective treatments. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genomequebec.com\/184-en\/project\/second-generation-diagnostics-imaldi-based-assays-for-protein-activity-to-improve-patient-selection-for-therapeutic-akt-inhibitors-in-cancer-treatment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">To learn more on the project, click here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Charles Goulet from Universit\u00e9 Laval, is working with Vineland Research and Innovation Centre to use variation in aroma-related genes to develop more flavourful tomatoes. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genomequebec.com\/183-en\/project\/a-genetic-toolbox-for-tomato-flavour-differentiation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">To learn more on the project, click here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec is happy to report that Qu\u00e9bec has achieved excellent results in the 5th cycle of the Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP).
