Applications must be submitted through <\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/arcticnet.smapply.ca\/prog\/partnered_research_program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><em>ArcticNet<\/em><\/strong><\/a> <strong><em>only.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec and ArcticNet are joining forces to launch the Call for proposals 2024 of ArcticNet Partnered Research Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scope and Research Priorities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Growth of economic activities in the Inuit Nunangat and the broader Canadian North, compounded with the ongoing global climate change crisis, has created a suite of new research priorities and needs that must enhance understanding and support decision-making. ArcticNet projects address research gaps and needs identified by end-users, including those defined by Indigenous leaders and communities, national and territorial governments, scientists, and international declarations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ArcticNet will fund projects addressing priorities related to Well-Being, Infrastructure, Energy, Ecosystems, Economy. Innovative, multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art and inclusive projects are solicited to address the challenges and opportunities created by the rapidly changing natural environment, and social and cultural systems. Applicants must outline how their work is addressing research gaps and needs identified by end-users<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding from G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec (GQ) will provide a total of $800,000 in support to research projects which will use omics approaches (omics encompass disciplines such as genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, nutrigenomics, metabolomics, metagenomics, genetic engineering, synthetic biology, or bioinformatics). The goal is to contribute to ArcticNet pillars and to G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec domains of interest: biodiversity, climate change, aquaculture, invasive species, emerging disease, sustainability, ecosystem and environment, human health, etc., by using omics and\/or promote the use and adoption of omics technologies. The project must include a researcher based in an eligible institution in Quebec. The applicant and host institution have to be eligible by both ArcticNet\u2019s criteria and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genomequebec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/data\/DOCUMENT\/148_en~v~GENOME_QUEBEC_FINANCIAL_GUIDELINES.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s financial guidelines.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec will provide support to the team grants relevant to omics with applicant based in an eligible institution in Quebec.
