This $1.2 million competition aims to support research on rare mutations of CFTR for which no treatment is available with the long-term goal of developing novel therapies through the following objectives:<strong> &nbsp;<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Specifically address forms of cystic fibrosis caused by rare mutations which are not responsive to currently available treatments and thereby take forward the Cystic Fibrosis community priorities. Targeted mutations are class I mutations (nonsense, frameshift, splicing) that don&#8217;t produce functional CFTR protein.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve the understanding of the mechanism of these mutations and\/or lay the basis for the development of novel therapies, using <em>omics <\/em>approaches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more details on the competition requirements, please see the request for applications document below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research teams will develop a research program with concrete activities and deliverables that support the above-mentioned objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program will finance projects with a total budget from $300,000 up to $600,000 each (no co-funding required).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This competition is open only to researchers affiliated with an eligible institution in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications must be submitted through G\u00e9nome Qu\u00e9bec.
