The goal is to translate advances in genomic research into concrete and marketable solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-789ae9b840048374520fa3da88185134\"><strong><strong>Program Objectives<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increase Canadian private-sector investment in the <strong>commercialization<\/strong> of innovation derived from public R&amp;D funding in genomics and biotechnology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stimulate technological <strong>innovation<\/strong> and <strong>implementation<\/strong> through co-operative R&amp;D between research and receptors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable research investments that <strong>de-risk opportunities<\/strong> and secure follow-on funding from finance and industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster and encourage <strong>participation<\/strong> in innovation and entrepreneurship by individuals from equity-deserving communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-056d1b23fdb3ce866d6b19f2f95a017d\"><strong>Eligible Partners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each project must include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A receptor:<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A for-profit Canadian company<\/span> with an economic interest in turning an idea or research outcome into a commercial application. A representative from the company (owner or employee) will act as the project lead and oversee research and commercialization efforts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A researcher:<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Affiliated with an eligible academic institution<\/span> such as a university, research institute, hospital, or nonprofit organization with an explicit research mandate.
