Only<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;the<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;projects<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;that were<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;selected by Genome Canada but unable to be funded due to lack of funds were able to participate in this competition. In the same&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">vein as the LSARP 2018<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;competition, AAFC aimed to encourage its scientists to&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">foster collaboration<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\">&nbsp;with their academic and industry colleagues.&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW33369396 BCX0\">G\u00e9nome<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\">&nbsp;Qu\u00e9bec saw it as a great opportunity&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">to<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;help establish new partnerships and allow Quebec researchers to be competitive&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">at<\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW33369396 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml_lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;national level.
