Dr. Guy Rouleau received the Canada Gairdner Wightman Award 2020 for his outstanding work on identifying and elucidating the general mechanisms of neurological and psychiatric diseases, such as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), autism and schizophrenia.

The award also recognizes his leadership in the field of Open Science, a new collaborative method of conducting research, which has become increasingly relevant given the COVID-19 pandemic. This award highlights his valuable contribution and the significant role of his researches in expanding the influence of genomics way beyond our borders.
